A Dirt Devil is a vacuum cleaner. Now, a "dust devil" is a different thing. It's a little whirlwind thing where dust gets kicked up in a little cyclone. But the vacuum is supposed to be a devil to dirt, a devil towards dirt. Dirt is bedeviled by it. The Dirt Devil is dirt's nemesis, its mortal enemy.
