We all need our family near in our lives.
Mostly when we are students, when we come home it´s nice to see a pretty smile on our mother´s face, while we tell her all the things that happened that day.
That´s how I raised my children.

I went to college in Colorado and I'm from Alaska. Grew up in a Family of 8 I was the oldest. I missed being around people that loved me, where as people in college hang out because you make them look cool or something. I got homesick, but I also rememberd why I was at college. Good Question

I never went away from home for college. But I feel for you missing your family. Sometimes it might help if you give them a call, you might be on a tight budget so maybe you can do the old fashion thing and write them a letter. I know you can chat but I think it is just kind of nice to sit and write sometimes.

When I was in school, I got homesick every once in a while. As time went by, I pretty much started to avoid home altogether. Give it time.

First of all, if you are in college, you need to learn to spell the word "their" referring to things belonging to someone. There, means a location-put it over "there" OK?
Yes, of course a lot of people want to go home and say "HI" to "their" families. The ones who don't probably don't have very nice families, and are glad to get away from them. Try writing postcards. They are short, but they help people to know that you are thinking of them. My mom saves all of the postcards I write to her, and someday I will have a written record of lots of interesting things that I saw and did.

Once you get used to it and start making friends, going home will be the last thing on your mind.
I know it was for me.

My goodness...your grammar and spelling! Your homesickness has clouded your ability to write correctly!
Or should I say "right correctly"?
