I was at work at my hotel, half mile from The Pentagon. The plane flew right over my hotel before it hit The Pentagon. I will never forget it.

Just got back from New York , a vacation to the finger lakes area .WAS watching NBC and Bryant Gumbel when they began coverage of the events of 9-11.
AS the second plane hit it still did not register for a moment that we were under attack . I thought for a brief few seconds that some idiot pilot had flown to close and hit the other tower .With in a couple more seconds i began to think it was an attack and a few seconds later so did many others .
Up until that moment i could not conceive of a group of people hijacking multiple planes and flying them into buildings .
Now every plane crash car chase or building fire is a terrorist act until they say other wise .
Sad that innocence was lost that day and we joined the rest of the world as members of victim's of terrorist acts on our own soil .
I knew that we had several trouble spots and that we had embassy's and naval vessels and people attacked or kidnapped in the past .
It just did not register that day instantly and now it seems everything could be a terrorist act .
I still fly and it does not keep me from doing anything i always did but it has changed how i look at everything and the always prevalent feeling that it may be terrorists again every time i hear of an explosion or plane crash .

I was in my car. I had a meeting in Salt Lake and was meeting a colleage at the office to drive down together. (I lived in Ogden, UT at the time). We wanted to get an early start to beat rush hour traffic. I remember I was excited because I could Listen to Bob Lonsberry the morning show host for talk radio. I turned on the radio and heard them talking about it, I looked at the clock it was just after 7:00 in Utah, I thought good, it is early enough that there won't be many people there- Then it occurred to me that it was 9:00 in New York and I thought "how terrible" then I heard them say that it was a commercial airliner and I felt even worse. I remember thinking, what is it about the World Trade Center? So I called my mom from the car. I told her to turn on the news, that history was happening ( she was homeschooling my nieces and nephews). She turned on the TV and then I heard them say the second one hit. She said to me "they did it on purpose", I said "what do you mean" she said that they were just flying and then they turned and ran right into the tower. I just remember that being the longest drive to Salt Lake ever (it is only about and hour drive).
I remember on the drive hearing that they were grounding all the airplanes and then the plane hit the pentagon. At that moment, I just wnated to get home and see a TV to see the coverage. I remember thinking that if it hit the pentagon that menat this was serious. I remember hearing them talk about major cities that had been shut down and I was afraid that they would shut down Salt lake and I would be trapped there. I began to worry about my husband and brothers and brothers-in-law and being worried that they would be drafted to war.
When I finally saw the images, I was mortified. I could not believe that this could happen to us.
I remember telling someone that if President Bush didn't go to war over this and get these very EVIL people, that I would support impeachement and I would not vote for him next time.
Before then I thought that we had no business in other counties, Now my attitude has changed.
America is still the GREATEST nation in the world.

I was working at Tim Horton Donuts, I remeber we all stopped working and put on the t.v's and watched what happened. The donut shop was silent and noone talked or moved when the owner of the store put on the t.v. It was a sad moment and I will never forget it. 3 years ago my sister and I went where the towers were and I can honestly say that I cried and was extremely sad.

I was about to leave for work, and the tv was on so I just sat glued to it when they showed the first tower with smoke coming out. Seeing that second tower as it was being hit was incomprehensible. One of my former clients was in one of those buildings.
I went to my son's school just to see him. Some parents took their kids home, for fear terrorists might hit other cities that day. I remember being mad that those towers were so very tall- it's idiotic what you think at the time.

I was playing golf in France when my wife phoned me to tell me about TVs special flash news related to this disaster. I just could'nt believe it and thought she had been mistaken while watching one of those dramatic movies.. It had been a terrible shock for us. We wrote to some remote American friends in Chicago to tell them, and through them to all our friends in the United States, how we felt and how much we shared the sorrow of your nation. Unfortunately the letter came back undeliverred as the address was unvalid. Your question here gives me the opportunity to tell you I and a great many people of my entourage here in France have been close to you on that day anniversary of 09.11.

I was in class when one of my students came in and said she had heard a rumor that someone had flown a plane into one of the World Trade Center towers. I told her that had to be just a rumor because that could never happen in the U.S. I later apologized for being so stupid.
