Asking for money is harder when you think you're asking for a lot. Trust me, $30 is nothing. If you feel like you're causing them some sort of problem by asking for such a trivial amount, they may be picking up on your reluctance and abusing their position. Child care is expensive and parents must be responsible for it, so there is no "problem" in asking them to pay (you might *feel* like there is, but it's really not a problem and it's expected that you should and will do it).

You don't necessarily even need to ask for the money, just let them know how you expect to be paid (examples: "Please make your check payable to..." or "It would be best if you could pay in cash rather than a check..."). If they want you to babysit again, do NOT do so until they have paid for what you've already done. If you don't expect to babysit for them again soon (or at all), then you'll need to contact them about it specifically. You could do it in writing if talking makes you uncomfortable -- however, if your spelling is as terrible as what you've shown here, you should have someone else write it for you, to avoid having them lose respect for you which could slow their payment even further.

One of two things is happening here - 1) they are fully aware that you are owed money, but are exploiting your good nature (and clearly your friends); 2) they completely forgot!

So, as none of us like confrontations - particularly if you are young, the best thing is to assume number 2. Next time you see them, smile and say, I feel really embarrased asking you , as I'm sure you have just forgot - but you haven't paid me for the times I've babysat before. At this point I am sure they will laugh and thank you for being so understanding. If of course they protest and insist that they never agreed to pay you, then just make your excuses and leave, doesn't matter how much you enjoy the job - it's not fair to exploit people.

Screw up your courage and ask for the money. Say, "You owe me $30 because it was ten dollars per time (or whatever the formula) I need the money to pay my bills and I've been counting on it."

One thng this is quite tricky on Yahoo answer is the conceitedness with which a good number of folk respond to quite stable questions. And as so frequently in existence, conceitedness is not any assure for being precise. Your question is an rather stable one, certainly. yet to respond to it, we might ought to get somewhat greater exact than "sharks" frequently. Sharks have an rather delicate experience of odor and mammalian urine is a few thing they are able to quite %. up. yet no longer all are attracted by way of it. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, those species that are preying frequently on marine mammals quite abode in on urine. this may well be the case for tremendous white sharks (Carcharodon carcharias). i'm not sure why you ask the question; in different words, i'm not sure however in case you're apprehensive that your swimming in the sea could attraction to a shark and place you in ability threat. in case you're apprehensive, only attempt to apply user-friendly experience. as an occasion, in case you will swim in a community which you're no longer responsive to and additionally you're apprehensive approximately sharks, ask the locals approximately obtainable negative aspects. you need to look up a community dive shop and ask the individuals there. for my area, i think of which you're very secure to rejoice with your swim - this is, except you're making plans to take a dip subsequent to a seal rookery off the Californian or South African coast... Please do no longer forget that your possibilities of having attacked by way of a shark are so infinitesimally small which you mustn't situation approximately having relaxing in the sea and actually only rejoice with it. Oh, and in case you're making plans on scuba diving and additionally you're thinking however if this is okay to pee on your moist suite in the time of the dive, continuously do no longer forget that there are 2 form of divers: people who pee of their suites and people who lie approximately it.

When they next ask you tell them "Ok, but can we settle the other $30 outstanding this time" They can hardly say no... but the longer u leave it not saying nothing, the more likely they are to dispute it.

Just ask for it over, and over. You are right and they are wrong.
But, realize you are nursing on a dry hole. Your education level
indicates your inability to come to a logical conclusion.
I would suggest asking for help from a competent adult/pastor.
Then for God's sake get back in school.
There is plenty of help out there for people who seek it!
