Actually the horse power was quite low 250hp. cat converter and EGR and lean running Qudra Jet. That 1973 had a face only a mother could love. Ugly to the bone big bumpers, plenty of room in the big engine bay I put a 454 out of a surburban into my 1973 el camino and took it to the dyno and got only 200 rear wheel horse power but what a torque monster. With a 3.30 rear end top out well past the 85 mph spedometer. 2,000 rpm at 75 mph

The lowest 454 power ever. "Stoichiometric ratio" was a frustration by the gm plant itself.Carbeurated giant with compression not even respectable. I have had smaller than 350 ci v8 carbeurated with more power.
