Last night I had a dream that my ex boyfriend who was abusive was chasing me. I jumped really hard and then woke up. My fiance' keeps asking me what my dream was about but, I'm scared to tell him because I don't want him thinking that I think about my ex-boyfriend. I don't at all. That dream came from out of nowhere. What do I do?

Tell your fiance. Obviously, his behavior is still upsetting you if you are dreaming about it. If he is a good guy, he will understand and help you through it.

A dream is a dream. You have no control over what you dream about. Let me tell you a true story....

I was in a very abusive relationship about 12 years ago...I have never forgotten of the pain I had to suffer because it never goes away, but you learn to deal with it and you start thinking of it less and less, but you don't forget. I got married awhile back...about a month ago I had a dream about the abusive ex and that I had married him.

Dreams are just dreams, just because you dreamt about your ex doesn't mean that you still love him, but maybe your sub-conscience mind still remembers that awful time in your life.

Tell your fiancee, if he is a decent man he will realize you are not thinking about your ex-boyfriend when you dream of him, rather you are reliving a traumatic point in your life and you are subconsciously still dealing with the effects of it. Tell him, you would be suprised on how much just telling a person about your troubles can relieve them!!! If you are unable to open up to your fiancee, there are a number of reputable organizations who might be able to help you understand your feeling and emotions regarding your ex-boyfriend. I hope this helps as, it did for me!!

He's your fiancè and more than likely-he will be very understanding and not at all upset. Let him know how your ex was abusive to you and that you had a dream and it really scared you. More than likely, he will be very caring and also concerned for you in the sense of making sure that you are okay. I promise that if he truly is the one for you-he will be understanding. So tell him and good luck!

Honey, if you're going to marry this man, you're going to have lots of dreams that he may not necessarily be thrilled that you had. You might as well get used to telling this man the truth if you're going to spend the rest of your lives together- besides, that dream may make him feel comforted about your feelings for your ex because you were scared enough in your dream to jump in your sleep.

You need to tell your fiance about the dreams. You may not be consciously be thinking about your ex, but sub-consciously you obviously are. You need help dealing with your emotions. Let your fiance be the one to help you through this.

You should just tell him. It's not like you were dreaming GOOD things about your ex. Plus, it's only a dream, which you can't control.

Talk to your fiance about it. Let him know what you think it means..example: I wonder if it means I am still worried he may try and do something to hurt me, or that he may try to upset our wedding plans etc.. I'm sure your fiance will be supportive of you knowing what you had gone through with the other person.
