i think all babies are different but you might do some changing about her sleep habits, where you put her, if you stick around etc...i think she might be bothered easily by distractions, and if you have slept close to or with her lots these first few months i think you might have her wanting to be in a specific comfort zone when she sleeps....you might try just setting her in her room and if she cries if you leave let her...it won't kill her and if she hasn't slept very much she obviously needs it...but if she's sleeping thru the night this might be all she needs...you might just have to get her into a new routine--also i've heard babies work better when they follow a schedule....good luck!!

My son is 3 months old and he only takes 15 minute naps during the day also. I think its normal for babies to cat nap during the day. Not all babies are alike, some might sleep more. Just be lucky that she sleeps good at night. I dont really know if there are any suggestions. My son is constantly being played with and kicking and rolling on the floor and he still doesn't sleep more then 15 minutes at a time during the day. Maybe our babies are just more active!
Congrats and good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it to much, if she's sleeping normal through the night you got it made!!! Maybe she just needs more stimulation when she wakes up. She's not really "newborn" anymore after two months babys usually start sleeping less & less during the day. As for the fussiness, as long as she is fed, changed, and played with, she will be ok. My mom always said it's nice for them to test out there new lungs once a day, it keep them clear.

I have a 3 month old and I know exactly what you are talking about. She used to be the same way and still is sometimes. Its like she is going to miss out on something. I guess I would rather have her stay up during the day and sleep at night. I guess if your really concerned about it ask your doctor.

Give her some exercise during the day. I know it sounds silly for a two month old, but you can bring her arms together and her legs up and down, put her on her stomach to watch her do "push ups" these things really tire a baby out. She might take longer naps after. Good Luck

she's very normal since she sleeps well at night, don't give her anything to make her sleep it's not healthy at all. in few months your baby will grow up fast and fast and when she becomes one year you can put her in a good day care, just wait, you only have to wait and enjoy your motherhood, i know you must be tired, new born babies take much attention, but this is the way it is. God bless you, mothers are angels on earth.

My baby is the same way... No matter what I have tried he'll only take small naps or one decent nap during the day. But when his bed time comes around 7 he's out and not awake until 6 in the morning, so I just count my blessings.

depend on how long she sleeps at night. 2 month old baby should sleep around 15-18 hours a day at her age.

Just play with her, mine who is also 2 months going on 3, sleeps all day and all night but eats plenty! As long as she eats and not spits up all of it, let her get comfy and sleep. Its very hard to keep babies up. If they're tired don't force them to stay up, she will be more alert as time passes!

My baby likes to sleep in a sling. She has trouble falling asleep sometimes unless I put her there, then she falls asleep lickety-split.
You may want to swaddle your baby, also. That may help.
I know this goes against all the anti-SIDS recommendations, but have you thought about putting her on her tummy? Many babies sleep very well on their tummies.
