If you're working 8 hours straight, you're entitled to one 30-minute lunch period and one 15-minute break.

I'm not aware of any manditory time set aside for lunch or breaks. I've been working for 4 years in AZ, when I worked at an Urgent Care Center most of the time I didn't get ANY breaks, and regularly did not get to eat lunch/dinner.

I live in AZ and just went through the entire Labor statutes and saw no mention of mandatory breaks or lunches. And, the others are right, we are a Right to Work state.

To my knowledge, it is a right to work state. They(employers) do not have to give any breaks at all.
I know someone who works for a place called Speed-co, it is a quick lube/oil change place for big rigs, they didn't get jack!! No breaks, or a lunch break. On their feet for 8hrs, on concrete, oh, you can wolf down your sandwich if no customers are there, but this place is right on the Interstate.
Right to work state, CRAZY!!!

If you're in a union, refer to your union contract. Otherwise you are at the mercy of your employer.
