Yes, home phones without caller ID are very common in the U.K. You lose the element of surprise!

Yeah but we don't ever answer that one. We answer the other 2 in the house w/ caller ID.

i do own a phone without caller id, but i don't answer it, lol. i use the answering machine as my screener, and only pick up if it's someone i know. my cell has caller id, and i don't answer it if i don't know the person, i let the voicemail pick up.

I think Caller ID is the greatest invention EVER for those of us who have mother-in-laws! Aside from the night chain on a front door!

Yes I do. I have three teenagers so I don't have to answer the phone. So I don't care who is calling.

Yes I do. I wouldn't do with out it, I hate not knowing who is calling. If I don't know the number than I do not answer, I screen my calls, and most of the time the numbers I don't know are stupid telemarketers.
