Quick rule of thumb: the higher the number of pixels the higher the quality, but there are other factors involved as well.
1) 2 cameras same pixel rating: look at lens quality
2) 2 cameras of similar pixel rating Look at range of zoom and quality of lens. then pick the best
3) pixel rating required can be limited by the type of print you want to produce: for example: If only using the camera for happy shots and you only intend to produce 4 X 6 photos you do not need a rating higher than 3.2Mp to produce an acceptable result.
if you think that you want to be able to produce A4 enlargements you should get camer with 5.1Mps rating. If you want to go A3 size 8Mps rating. If larger again you will need 10Mps or greater rating. I hope this answers your question

Almost always the better quality comes from higher megapixel. However if you get a cheap knockoff brand making a 5 megapixel camera and a good brand such as Canon making a 3 megapixel, I guarantee that every picture will turn out better with the canon.

Higher megapixels is better, but only if you and the people you're connected to have a broadband (cable or DSL) connection.
With a slower connection, the higher resolution can make the picture look jumpy.

The HIGHER the megapixel, the BETTER the picture quality.
Think of a pixel as the smallest little dot that can be shown... Sooo, the smaller the dot that can be displayed, the better the picture..........

The higher the pixel count the better the resolution. One megapixel is approximately one million pixels.

yes more megapixel means more quality, or a picture that you can zoom very deep in it
