Poland is a great little country. If you are going to visit it's pretty cheap, the exchange rate is pretty good (although it went downhill this past summer). If you live there, not so cheap anymore. There are TONS of stuff to do in Poland - it just depends where you are at. Also it's not that far behind, like most people think (the person above me said 50-60 years, are you serious?? have you ever been there??) People there are very nice and helpfull. Most of them know some english which makes it easy to communicate for all tourists. I just spend a summer in Krakow and traveled around a bit. If you have any specfic questions, feel free to contact me. It's not as scary as most people think, and YES, Poland has 4 SEASONS. Sorry to disappoint some people, but its NOT always cold there. If you are going to visit Poland, have fun!!

I really liked the country and the people. I spent 3 months there. Most things are very cheap, clothes, food etc and its an interesting place to be. The north coast has lovely beaches for summer (Gdynia area) the only thing I thought looked dodgy were the hospitals and someone told me if u go into a Polish hospital, its very unlikly that u ll come out again. I wasn t sure whether to believe them or not but I had a great time in the country.

Not much...
Years ago I had a classmate that's from Poland...

Some difference...
The grades they get there... An A+ (10) is a 1 an 9 a 2... And so on...
They were paying with slotyz (I'm not sure if I spelled that right)
But in Slotyz I would have been a millionair... lol ; )...

What else do I know...
uh... Nothing else... I guess...

poland is a very time laxed country. there not much up to date there if u know that i mean. everything seems as it 50 - 60 years behind with everything.
there some nice things to see though. if u ever go krakow go and see the salt mines that a nice place.
it gets very very cold around december to aprill time -28 when i was there in january couple of years ago. the people are nice enough but watch out for the one who try to sell u stuff its a con!!!! a watch out for dodgy taxi men hanging around.
if u get bored easy dont go!!!!!

Off the top of my head - They were treated abominably by the Germans and then the Russians, who both thought them sub-human (what is sub-human?). The invasion of Poland by Germany saw Britain declare war on Germany.

I have family there. It is a wonderful place. The country is beautiful and the food is to die for. Sauerkraut and kielbasa and mashed potatoes, pierogies, stuffed cabbage and Polish rye whiskey, what a taste sensation. The language is so melodic--easy on the ears. The country has so much history.

Its really beautiful. Architecture is amazing. People are friendly. Shopping is OK depending on what you're looking for. Lot's to see and do, from concentration camps to waterparks, shopping centres to market squares, churches and historical buildings.

The girls must be fantastic dancers, as there are clubs all over the world featuring them (sadly, often in seedy districts!).
