It is a funny sounding word but I probably wouldn't laugh about someone who loved what they believed in. You probably got a odd feeling and that was the reason you stopped laughing. Means someone who is crazy about God or talks about God all the time. They walk the line. Pretty much what skeet1 said. And he's right there isn't a thing wrong with that.

It refers to a practice in many churches, of people "being filled with the spirit" and rolling around on the floor, speaking in "tongues" and being in what in other circumstances would be considered an epileptic fit. In slang, it refers to anyone with a holier than thou attitude, who makes a point of showing off how spiritual they are and who put others down for not being holy enough. For a good and exceedlingly funny example, rent the movie SAVED sometime....it's really funny!

I think you have NO IDEA what you are doing.
WHY in the world are you posting THESE questions in "Polls & Surveys"????
It is in regards to Pentecostal Churchgoers: The term is commonly used derisively, as if to describe people literally rolling on the floor or speaking in tongues in a uncontrolled manner.
