i try not to make fun of people at school. some can't help it they are nerds or ugly. it's sad they are like that they can't help it

I can honestly say I've never really hated anyone. I've shot a few people but that was more in a loving way. I wouldn't think of making fun of a person then shooting them, that would just be wrong.

I'm afraid you're being too optimistic about "hate". From your question, the implication is that we don't hate others anymore, but that's hardly the case.
However, I do think you're right in that we do "make fun of" others more these days. In some cases, that could be a substitute for hating, but in others, it may only be an expression of that hatred.
