What is their problem??
If you don't like your job, treated unfair, MOVE ON.
If you can't find anyone to employ you on your terms, start a business.
If you start a business, you won't want anyone to tell you how to pay the people you hire to work in your investment.
The real problem is selfishness. The thinking of the general population goes like this:
"I want a big house too. No, I can only do semi-skilled labor, but I want to make enough to buy a big house... gee that's not fair. Someone should be forced to pay me more - I don't care that they risked their own capital and time to invest in a business, I just want a big house"

Well I see the similarity to a union. A union tries to give power to the workers by uniting them in a single voice. This web site is trying to unite all workers to give them power by getting them to quit on the same day and leave their employers "holding the bag". What the "dreamers" that though up this idea don't understand is that many people really DO need their job because they have kids and responsibilities and live paycheck to paycheck. Also depending on the industry, the employer may not be affected for months (due to stockpiles of inventory) and by then the employee will likely need their job back and the power has not changed at all (the employer may even punish the employee for such a drastic move).

I would think this would make the unions cringe. They haven't done anything useful for years and are more involved with politics today than the working stiffs that pay their dues. I would join in but I really would have to have a new job lined up. As to your question... I think this is worse than the union for the reasons stated above.
Have a great day!!!

Depends on the job & union.
Many unions are not worth joining..... and some should actually be disbanded..
There are good ones...
Airline ones.
Safety related mfg ones..
Nowadays though unions are often worse than the employer.
In the beginning unions were good idea...but since the early 70's and even late 60's ...unions have become as crooked and often more crooked than employers..

im pretty fed up with the union i am in, i expect some corruption, but the sheer incompetence and arrogance really irks me, to phrase it so i wont get reported. They are so behind the times, i cant imagine how they operate, or why they do so, this is the computer age and they would operate by pony express or carrier pigeon if they could.

Unions are important. I don't think quitting is the answer.

That's a ridiculous idea. Most of us, while we would like to see a better world or economy or WHATEVER, are locked into societys financial structure. We still have to eat and find shelter. Who's gonna do that for you? These YO-YO's?
