it was on last night , i have not seen it , but it sounds like the big deal is that the consiracy of the government being in on 9/11 was proved wrong and made a lot of people upset so they had to say it was fake , if ben laden came to these people's doorstep with a certified letter they still would blame bush

The big deal is that they presented this as 'based on the 9/11 Report'. Most people feel the 9/11 Report is the most accurate account of the events leading up and surrounding the attack. However, the docu-drama incorporates several scenes taken from other sources that are completely fictitious and directly in conflict with the 9/11 Report. The result is a movie that places the blame for 9/11 almost entirely on the Clinton administration, when, at the very least, blame should be shared equally (there is ample evidence that Bush ignored intelligence relating to Bin Laden and terrorism, but that didn't make it into the movie).
Another problem is that this is being presented as fact, as a DOCU-drama, and is even being touted as an educational opportunity. If you are going to present a bias, or use materials you know to be biased, you should at least be honest. If I read a book by Ann Coulter or Al Frankin, I know they have a bias and I can accept what they say in that context. But, when something is presented as 'documentary-like', it implies an element of truth and a lack of bias.
As a result, Scholastic has dropped their support of the movie (they were to distribute copies to schools with related materials) and ABC removed the claim it was based on the 9/11 Report. They have also downplayed the 'docu' aspect of the movie, and now promoting is as a 'fictionalization.'
There is a new Graphic Novel of the 9/11 Report that is said to be completely true to the 600 page report. If you don't want to wade through the entire Report, you might look for it instead of watching this 'docu-drama'.

It's a good program that was unfortunately directed with a very modern jittery style that I find tiring. However, the story so far is excellent and it certainly makes the CIA look like it was mostly on top of things. The second half of the program will be aired tonight on ABC at 8PM eastern time.
The first half was amazingly aired without commercials, and I want to thank ABC for that. Unfortunately, it is not being broadcast in high-definition, which I found a little disappointing.
It is a very good program that is meant to be historical drama. It is not a documentary and should not be considered as informational or "news." It is entertainment, and very good entertainment.
