I have been planning on attending communitycollege on the 25th. Just last week my mom stated that she is fine with whatever I decided about going to school. She is the one who has been burning in my head that I am going to college. I almost want to take year off, but should i just get it over with?

I strongly agree with Fazzizle,
My thinking is:
as long as you use your time productively during that one year off then why not? it will also help you to maybe decide and be CERTAIN of which course to choose.
One advantage of taking a year off is
Many many many people head straight from school to college and ended up changing courses in the next year or so but those who take one year off has significantly less tendency to change their course.
Also if you decide to work full time during your time off, you will learn something about life that you would not have learnt if you went to college and this will definitely influence you in what courses you choose.
It solely your choice. if anybody says anything negative to you, consider what they say but ultimately the decision is soley yours.

In my opinion community colleges have a really flexible schedule, meaning you can take classes (doesn't matter how many credits) for a semester and not take anything the next semester. Since you said you've planned to start class this month, I take it that you've already registered. In that case you should go to your classes and see how you like them. If you do fine in the class, continue next semester. If not, you might want to consider taking other classes that you're more interested in, or take some time off and go back to class later.
Whatever your decision is, make sure you do go to school and get at least an AA/AS eventually.

Taking a year may sound like a great idea--it gets you out, seeing things, etc. However, once you leave it's REALLY tough to come back to school. Why give up the freedom? Anytime you stop school, for whatever the reason, getting back into the swing of things is tough. You'll want to quit before you begin.
My advice is to study abroad next summer. You'll get college credit AND see the world.
You'll like college--try it before you decide to take a year (and then some) off. I like your mom for supporting your decision either way, and be sure to bring her back a nice gift when you come back from studying abroad!

Hi. I want to help you so much, but there is a lot I don't know. Like, did u just get out of school? Is there stress at home, etc? Anyway, here is my opinion if it can help: unless there were good reasons not to that were pretty strong, I would go to school. If you have the time, money and ability to get more education, it is always worth it. So unless something fantastic is luring you away (like becoming a super model) then I would go for it.

Im 23 and I took time out for "life experience" before returning to Community College. My advice to you. GO TO SCHOOL. Community College is filled with people your age and the lessons are really catered to that age as well. Its harder to go later, it really is because then your family may not be there to support you and you'll have had time to get a taste of making money so you'll want to keep making High School level money. Good luck!

yeah just get it over with, i just started college and i love it and i think you'll like it a lot. Yeah school sucks and is boring but you'll like it, it's well at least for me a lot different then high school and i really like it and you know i think you will to so just go. Maybe your mom is just saying that because she feels like she can because you are already set on going to school. I think you should just go. Good Luck with your decision.
