I sent thankyou letters to all of the people who interviewed me today. when would you say is the earliest It would be exceptable to call back and inquire on the position.

I would like to thank all who did reply. I sent every person I interviewed with a thank you letter and got a call today and was offered the position rather then having to wait so thank you all again.

Did they ask you to ring??or should you be patient.
I think if I had heard nothing I would ring in about three days or send a letter thanking them for their time at interview number six and would welcome notification of the outcome at their earliest convenience..this would then give you an opportunity to remind them that they need to call you and place your contact details at the top of the pile. Lets not forget that you may be one of many candidates...perhaps they are still being interviewed.
I waited politely for ten days once...and made the call..they had actually thought the offer call had been made...the problem with large organizations??

I would call back by the end of this week or very early next week, but not on Friday. People are not in the same mode on Friday as they are during the rest of the work week. As an HR manager, I am very impressed by both a thank you letter and a call checking on the position. It shows that you are interested in the position and that you follow through especially when you are applying for a management position.

If it were me I would give them 4 days. Employers like people who are proactive without being pushy. A fine line sometimes but the best bad quality a manager can have is impatience.
Once you call the first time I would ask them point-blank "when should I check back with you again". That puts the onus on them to set a time so you don't have to guess.
Good luck. From the sounds of it you are on top of things and will do fine.

i think waiting a week would be a good time. then, when you do call, tell them you're just calling to make sure they got all the info they needed on you, and if they have any questions. just a follow up call. that will help them see that you're serious about the job, but not pushing it.
