No. Maurice ( I screwed up ) Clarett (formerly of Ohio State) tried to get a court order to waive the age for the NFL. He was twenty. Now facing felony charges-again.

The NFL is starting to do that now. Only very few have actually gone straight to the NFL. But I tell you what the NBA had a good idea!

NFL will not even look at anyone not 3 years removed from high school, i.e. 21 years old. Plus do you honestly think anyone right out of high school could play in the NFL? I think absolutely not, no exceptions.

To be eligible for the NFL, a player must be 3 years removed from high school.

This rule was challenged by Maurice Clarett. I believe it was a class-action lawsuit against the NFL (or maybe the NFL Players Association). A wide receiver named Mike Williams also joined the class-action suit. They lost their case against the league, and were forced to sit out of college foottball for a year while they waited for their time to be eligible for the NFL.

Because of their time away from the game, both players showed up to their eventual teams out-of-shape. Clarett was cut before the season even started, and Williams is barely holding onto his roster spot.

you have to wait 3 years from the time you would have graduated high school to enter into the NFL. That means to be eligible for the 2007 draft your high school graduating class would have had to been 2004

the nfl and ncaa work together on this. i think a player has to play out three years of eligibility in college before he can go to the nfl. so not out of high school.

This is the Maurice Clarett story.
After having a breakout freshman year with OSU and the Fiesta Bowl, Clarett appealed the two year after high school rule the NFL has in place. Clarett lost his appeal and had to wait out one year.

Very few players do. You need to get into at least a two year college if not enroll in a four year, where you can be taken in Freshman year.
