No, your English teacher wants you to be creative. OK, try these things:
Give the eraser a name and gender
Give the eraser a goal in life (to correct all the mistakes in your grade)
Give the eraser the challenges that he will have to face to get from one paper to another
Give him an obstacle (another eraser, non cooperative student, fast writing pencil, etc)
Help him win the battle by overcoming the obstacle and make him a winner.
. . . .or something like that (erasing in space, in Europe, after being lost in a backpack)
