Then i tried to open it on the desktops and none of them recognize that its even there. Then i put it into my laptop again and it wont read there either. The flash wont even light up like it usually does. Its pretty new and has been working fine on the desktops, i tried it on the laptop today for the first time. You might have ruined the flash drive if you just yanked it out from the laptop when first using it. You're supposed to Stop USB Device first (icon in systray) before physically removing it. You must buy a new one.

Before you panic, try the following:
1) Unplug your Flash drive.
2) Reboot your PC.
3) Plug in your Flash drive and see if your USB device icon appear in the system tray. If not, try a different USB port.
4) If you see the icon, the USB drive is connected. Click on My Computer to see if you can find the icon for Removable Drive. If you see it double click on it to open or right click and select Explore.
5) If you cannot access it but you can see the icon, right click on it and select Format. You will wipe out all the information on it.
6) If your PC lock up when trying to open it, you may have to reboot it again.

there is an icon that shows up down by the clock when you have usb things plugged in its a green arrow pointing to the left
before you remove a usb device you need to stop it with this icon or you run the risk of losing data.
if you didnt use this icon that could be the reason
if you did use it your flash drive could have malfunctioned
you can try to reformat it
i did that to mine once when it stopped working and that fixed it
stick in the drive- go into my computer- right click the drive- choose reformat-reformat as fat32-
hope that helps good luck

When you unplug the flash drive, did you do a remove hardware function before pulling off the computer? You might just kill the flash drive. Try it on your friend's computer. If it still does appear on the desktop, then it is dead for sure.
