Two things, first clear your mind using meditation techniques, not medication techniques, this will allow you to focus better. Second, after many years of teaching the students who had the worst problems learning had blocked their eyes and mind using the words "I can't!" If you convince yourself that you can't, then you won't! Best of luck to you.

Everyone is different so what clears one's mind may not clear another's. If you are in a creative profession it may be that your mind has been going in full gear and needs a break.

Exercise is a great way to clear the mind. Make it something new so your mind and body must shift. Go to a new park to walk or run. Go to the local pool and swim laps, and maybe a few underwater hand stands. Join a dojo and learn some forms. Martial arts have a wonderful way of clearing the mind and creating a mind/body connection that no other sport can do.

Or there is the new age method: candles, meditation, yoga

Tried and true: hot bath, hot tea, hot sex

Whatever your method your block will fade.

Most writers will have trouble with writer's block at some point in their lives. The possible reasons for writer's block are myriad: fear, anxiety, a life change, the end of a project, the beginning of a project…almost anything, it seems, can cause that particular feeling of fear and frustration. Fortunately there are as many ways to deal with writer's block as there are causes. The items below are only suggestions, but trying something new is the first step toward writing again.

Get out into natural surroundings. A walk by the sea if you're close to the coast, or a long walk through a leafy forest.... Climb a mountain if you're feeling particularly energetic. Really take the time to look around you and listen to the sounds of nature. Connect with it.

Natural beauty works wonders. It's soothing to the soul and gets those creative juices flowing again.

Take a break from whatever it is you are doing. Don't have a time frame in mind either, it might take a while for your head to clear. Do something that takes your mind off your profession completely. You'll know when you're ready to go back.

I'm workin' on some scripts and when im goin' through the mindblock, I just turn off my computer and get a sleep as much as possible and when I wake up I feel like Im getting refreshed, I don't work that day on computer. I just think slowly on my scripts. Don't put pressure on you. and it would be better to use a notebook to write your ideas you get during that period and you can put in your computer later. Computer just sucks if you're using it so much so you need to stay away from it for a while. And you should do some other things you like.

I'm writing a novel and I can only tell you what works for me. Sit down with the phone book, some paper and a pen. Copy listings from the phone book until an idea comes to you. Doesn't take long! LOL

Turn your computer off and get out of the house for the rest of the day! Go for a walk, go shopping, go get an ice-cream, anything just get out of the house.
