I have an 2002 Acura TL 3.2 and I want to paint it its original color (black). Just wanted to know if there was a site I could go get quotes at or if anyone knew a rough estimate.

Get off the computer and on the phone. Check out the Yellow Pages for body shops in your area. You'll have to bring in the car for an estimate. Don't pay any shop to make an estimate. It should be free. If they want a fee...walk away.

Find out where your Acura dealer sends it's body shop customers. That shop will know if there are any problems painting the 2002 TL. His estimate will be a good standard for your others. A good paint job includes many steps involving labor. The more steps a shop does, the better the paint job will be.

You should just take it to a reputable body shop and get estimates. It could need body work that you might not be able to see. The cheaper body shops like Maaco or Earl Shieb do not do a fantastic job painting your car. If you don't mask the trim yourself, they paint right over it, you see overspray on your tires, rims, windshield, etc.

there are a pair united states huge decrease cost physique shops which will sell you an extremely low-priced paint interest. the paint is their own combination, and isn't any longer very severe high quality, they many times plan on being worthwhile in upgrading to a extra effective paint interest alongside the way. those places provide minimum interest to element and preperation whch are the failings which will make your automobile seem severe high quality and final. i've got considered those paint jobs marketed for a pair hundred money. i'm a professional bodyman and the well-known paint i take advantage of can no longer additionally be touched for his or her finished cost. maximum shops determine sixteen to 21 hours for a paint interest requiring no disassembly or bodywork, your automobile could be approximately sixteen, in user-friendly terms for a coarse thought, flat cost of $50.00 comes out to $800.00. the fee of fabric is many times figured as an amout cases paint hours, in my section that no. is $23.00, or $368.00. so for a minimum professional paint interest you've got approximately $1200.00 with the help of time tax is further. possibility is you may double this volume because of the fact there'll in all possibility be hidden harm which you will opt to repair alongside the way, and possibility is you have some dents that isn't take place now yet will with new mind-blowing paint. you will in all possibility additionally finally end up desiring to do away with some products to get a extra effective interest. additionally flat cost, (hard artwork expenses) variety from section to section, so this could substitute the fee drastically, those are expenses for the midwest, larger cities will in all possibility be drastically larger.

Maaco does a terrible job, stay away from them if you can afford. But for a good paint job, look to spend around $1000

I'd say Maaco too, but they did a crappy job on some simple work on my TL.
Go anywhere else but the dealer & shop around.

ask around to feel out the type of work a shop does first, ask many questions, and go look at some of their previous work and see how it is holding up.

Go to any Maaco shop. They are normally cheaper then a body shop. I can't vouch for their quality.
