You are running in US keyboard .
Go to control panel, regional settings, check keyboard setup.
Alternatively, you might see a blus square with "EN" on it, on the righthand side of your taskbar, click it, and you should be able to change from English-US, to English-UK.

Sorry but it means you've got an North American keyboard. You can change the settings to a different region. First go into your Control Panel then Keyboard settings and see if there are different options. If there aren't, all you can do is open a Word-type programme and cut and paste from the Symbols menu. Sucks, but it's what I have to do since moving here with my US laptop.

Your keyboard is set to English (American). Go into keyboard options in the Control Panel and reset your country settings.

Go into Control Panel / Regional and Language Options and see if one of those English language keyboards will work for you. It gives a sample as you click through them.
