Eye contact is surprisingly difficult to get right - it could mean just poor social skills... could mean they are shy... could mean they are lying. You match that with other things - like fidgeting and pacing, etc.
Worse is the person who wears sunglasses when they are talking to you.

I think some people are just very shy and just too shy to look you in the eyes, I think you can generally tell who the shy ones are as well as the con people who just will not look you in the eye, I am really into body language and you can pick a lot up from the eyes alone, who is lying and who is just shy, very interesting.

I always look in the eyes of people when I talk to them.
Now my best friend she was abused as a young child and also as a teen. she can't look into anyone's eyes because she is scared they will see the hurt and fear in the her eyes. Just because someone does not look into your eyes when your talking to them mean they are lying or anything. maybe they were abused and Just afraid. something to think about Have a Great Day :)

Don't trust them! If someone asks me something and then does not look me in the eye as I answer, I feel that they are not interested. I think it can be quite direspectful too. But many people find it hard and I try to be understanding of that, but still I much prefer it when they look me in the eye!

Blokes do this all the time, because it is uncomfortable to stare another male in the eyes: it probably feels aggressive, although they do glance at each other to
re-establish contact during a conversation.
If they don't want to look into the eyes of a female, then they probably don't like you, or maybe feel intimidated.
Female to female? Maybe shy, or again don't like you much, or bored.
Good question, though.

It's good to make eye contact but sometimes when people just keep staring at you when you're talking it's a bit freaky (and can put you off what you're trying to say). But then I'm shy, so I find eye contact difficult to maintain.

Westerners value a look in the eyes while speaking as a sign of honesty. Many other cultures think it is a sign of disrespect. I learned this in teaching children of different cultures. I taught my own child to look a person in the eyes when speaking to display confidence. When he was in daycare one teacher complained about it, she believed it was insolence! It just depends on your culture.

I don't trust them as I think they have something to hide, body language says a lot about a person , but I do think that some people are just shy and don't like to make eye contact,,,anyway it is a mental thing don't trust it..
