Echinacea tea -- or echinacea drops in your regular tea -- is great for colds. Boiled gingerroot will help your throat if it's raw. (Slice a few slices off the gingerroot and boil that in a pan on the stove. Discard the pieces and drink the tea. Sweeten with a little honey if needs be.) If you don't have gingerroot, you can put some powdered ginger in a mug's worth of water and boil that. If you have a microwave, you can boil it right in the mug.
It's not a tea, but if you slice an onion and keep a few of the slices near you on a small plate or saucer, this really will help your congestion. Put the rest of the slices in a plastic bag to keep them fresh. When the slices on the plate lose their effectiveness (i.e., they no longer stink so much) replace them with a few fresh slices.
Peppermint tea is also good when you have a cold. Sniffing chamomile tea is good for your sinuses, if they're congested, especially when it's made from the real dried chamomile blooms. I'm not sure about drinking it, but inhaling the vapors really does help congested or inflamed sinuses.

Drink what appeals to you. It's not so much the kind of tea as it's the steam that helps to loosen congestion, and the comforting feeling of the warmth in your stomach. If you add a little honey, the antiseptic of that combined with the astringent properties of any tea will make a sore throat feel better.
