if your reffering to to a pci slot adapter as the bit where you plug the network cable in heres how it goes. the speedsare theoretical and you rarely get what it says on the packet. most new hard wired connections run at 1,000mbps or if they are a year or 2 old 100 mbps. The wireless gets 108mbps but thats if your 5 cm away from it. Virtually every thing will degrade it (make it slower) going through a wall, a wet dog, standing in front of it.......... you get the picture
so......................... in the real world the hardwired cable wins every time but ...........if your internet connetion is only 1mbps (1meg) it doesnt really matter as most of the time for the home user thats the thing that slows your data transfer down. so the most you will get is 1 mbps .... but rember the 1st bit you never get what it says on the packet its more like 60% of the rated value

USB 2.0 supports data rates of up to 480Mbps. Throughput is typically less but you will not likely see a difference between USB and PCI. If you are using the connection to surf the Internet only, your Internet connection will be slower than either interface, so it will be a moot point. The USB does have the advantage of being removed from the components in the computer, being outside the case, and therefore not picking up as much interference. PCI
will have lower processor overhead. So if your priority is speed and reliability of connection, go with the USB. If your priority is less drain on your computer's CPU, and the convenience of tucking the adapter out of the way, go for the PCI.

I assume that you mean both are wireless. It's really up to you. If you work with a PC tower then I would suggest a Wireless PCI card as it is tidier, however there is nothing wrong with a USB Wireless dongle. A USB dongle is easier to remove and carry around if you don't have a wireless laptop, but you do lose one USB port, this may be an issue for you. Really it's personal choice

it is not appropriate witch merchandise you get. in case you get a on the spot G usb adapter u have the call of the place you have chose to place it because of the fact u can used any USB cable. yet while its a on the spot N the adapter it does not use a USB cable. i exploit the PCI and it works great (it even works on abode windows Vista, the on the spot G of direction) the element is you may would desire to be careful while putting the PCI card because of the fact u do no longer elect to cut back to rubble the "inner organs" of your pc in spite of the undeniable fact that it is trouble-free to place in. one element in case you're using abode windows 2000 or decrease make certain to place in the drivers first. in case you're using abode windows XP SP1 (Srvice %.) or bigger deploy the device first (USB or PCI) then use the CD. i'm hoping this might answer your queston.

Personally, I like a PCI connection for a desktop. I just find that anything hardwired is typically more dependable. I don't find you'll find a difference in speed that you'll notice.... Also, eventually if you get a router - it's nice to have ONE computer hardwired to it.... again for the same reason.
