I am a dial-up user ready to upgrade. I'm interested in wireless. Is it possible to go wireless with a DSL account, or is something better needed? I use a little known, low-cost ISP, Archerserve, they offer broadband, but they told me they don't offer wireless. I wonder if that just means they can't help with the set-up; that's not a problem anyway, equipment and set-up help are available elsewhere.

Another issue for me is maximum coverage area; I travel worldwide, and would like service that I can access from vitually anywhere.

if you want to be wireless anywhere anytime you need a wireless broadband account like from sprint or verizon or somewhere like that
you may get some people telling you to use hot spots but that doesnt guarantee that you will be able to connect.
im not sure about the international capabilities of wireless broadband but i would assume they can do it.
good luck

I see what you're looking for coming down the pipes - probably not in the too distant future. I don't think the technology is here yet though.

Right now, to be wireless in your own home - not a problem - pick up a hot spot - not a problem. You CAN get a bluetooth card for your computer that could pick up the signal from your cell phone. You'd use your cell phone minutes - but you'd be connected. As Verizon expands it's towers, you should be able to jump on with the new cards coming out that will be meant to do this.

The best way is to get the wireless device for your labtop if you travel alot. Most decent hotels should have free wi-fi connection that would let you access the net.
