I find that it is fine, as long as that is all that it is. My fiance bathes my god daughter often. Maybe he doesn't feel comfortable. But bath time can be a really good bonding time.

Sounds like he is making excuses to get out of bathing his daughter. My daughter is 3 and her dad still gives her a bath when he is home. Have your mom give him an option. Bath or dishes. My guess would be, he will pick the bath.

I think it's OK for the father to bathe his own daughter until she gets to a certain age. If he truly feels uncomfortable with it ask him why. He may be using it as an excuse to simply get out of doing the work and bathing the baby.

He's probably just being lazy or he's just not comfortable caring for a baby. Is this his first child? If so, he needs to build up some confidence and step in there and do it.
I have two daughters (ages 3 years and 22 months), and my husband has always bathed them. I'm home with them all day, so at night, he gets them ready for bed while I have a few minutes to myself to shower or just relax.
If I had a son, would it be inappropriate for me to bathe him or change his diaper? I certainly don't think so.
As long as a parent doesn't have issues that result in sexual feelings for their own children (which I think is pretty rare), there's no reason for him not to give her a bath.

He probably just doesn't want to give her the bath. Sometimes a parent can feel that they wouldn't be able to do it correctly or that they might not be gentle enough. He could give her a bath if he wanted to, there is nothing wrong with a father bathing his baby girl.

Depends on the age I think anything under the age of a year then daddy can bath but older then a women should do it. But some men feel really uncomfortable with it because all the accusation going on in this world today with parents doing bad stuff with their children. Don't let it concern you he's just protecting himself if someone says other wise. I am sure he is a good father and loves his kids very much. Their is just to many people out their that can make a big huge fuss over a father bathing a child of any sex.

No, it isn't wrong. My father was in charge of giving my sister and I baths until we were about four. I give my son a bath and I'm a female. It shouldn't matter...sounds like he needs to grow up or get out!

Is it wrong for a mother to bathe her son? Whats the difference? He is just being a lazy sob-there is no reason he shouldnt give his daughter a bath.

he needs to get over it and give her a bath. I have two girls, I usually bathe them because I am an at home mom, but if we are going some where, my husband pitches in, I don't see anything wrong with it, just because he is male. they are his kids. If you ask me its fishy that he doesn't feel comfortable doing it!

It is only wrong if the male is having thoughts that he shouldn't be having. My toddler girls sometimes think their father is more fun because he gets them washed quicker then I do. Then they have more time to play in the tub or get out. He'll also splash around with them a little more then I do. We are a family- heck we even go to the bathroom with the door open. If everything is innocent then let the dad father them.
