My son has torn up 2 play pens. He loves to jump. He jumps in the same spot. When he rips that side we just turn it around, til he rips the other side. This is getting expensive. He isn't walking yet, but he crawls out of the walker and saucer. I have nothing else to keep him confined. The baby sitter is complaining, he has ripped that one so much that he now crawls out the bottom of the play pen she has. We have tried patching it and everything but he just keeps ripping it. I need another way of confining him, or help telling me a better way to repair the playpens. Thank you

Make an area in a room and gate it off. He'll stay on the floor, be safe in one space, and not break play pens. The floor will also be clean because no one will walk in that area.

i found it better to safe proof the house (child friendly) and let the child roam the house (under supervison of course) and leave the play pen for nap time. This works fine the baby does not get into trouble and allow for me to get thing done as well.

I have a 17 mos old child that run after me through the house - we keep all the doors to bathroom closed and moved all dangerous things to cupboards he cant reach and all posions are kept in basement where he cant get them. This takes some getting use to but cheaper than having to replace a play pen every couple months.

The child is seeking attention and requires as much attention as they get. Play with them and play them out so that they are calm when in the play pen

It sounds like it he is a very active child. Instead of buying more play pens, I would recommend to go outside with him more often. let him be outside, have him crawl or have him try to push a pushing toy around .on this way he is busy, active and he is outside in the fresh air and in the sunshine. This would be a 100% better than being inside in a play pen where he can not do a whole lot.I hope you live in an area where it is save for him to be outside.

I've had 5 kids and never owned a playpen. Why is he in there so much that he even has time to tear it up, hmmm??

Get some baby gates for however many doors are on the room that you designate for him, baby proof the crap out of it and turn him loose. Kid needs to MOVE AROUND MORE!

baby gates work great. I only use my play pack when I travel or want to do yard work and its a sunny day for her to be out in the shade somewhere of course. When babies rip play pens its because they're bored with what they have and need something to do. Mine has never done that but like I said they're not in there the whole day. I like playing with my kids and putting them in swings! Its soothing for them!

If he loves to jump you might want to invest in a jumper. Fisher Price makes a great jumper that doesn't hang from a doorway. Maybe if he spent a few minutes here and there in the jumper he would get it out of his system and wouldn't jump so much in the playpen.

i did no longer. i individually in simple terms bought some very long toddler gates and sectioned off a factor of the abode the place she would desire to play. It in simple terms looked as though it might supply extra area and would want for use for longer. the pros of a playpen is which you would be able to pass it everywhere and that they are extra low priced. it is what we used nonetheless, and you would be able to place 2 of them mutually to make a great toddler pen, or you would be able to desire to dam off one nook of a room with it and enable them to play there. :) upload: considering the fact that time-outs are not particularly counseled till they're closer to 2+, and able to take a seat down in one place, i did no longer elect some thing like a play pen as a time-out... particularly... my daughter's over 2 now and extremely pleased and healthful and by no ability had a play-pen. possibly i'm in simple terms strange like that, yet i do no longer see it as a elect in any respect.

Maybe one of those baby play yard things.. It is like a 5 panel baby gate.. with no bottom.. it just sits on the ground.. he won't be able to jump through it..

Baby gates!
Or just make sure the home is baby proofed and stop confining him.
