I felt a sharp pain and then i noticed i had a lump in the back of my leg which was then bruised. it is now 10 days since i have done this and the bruise is still dark. why would this happen?

If it's on the thigh, then it was probably from your heel or the heel of your shoe. If it's doesn't go away within a few more days go to the docs

If it is on the back of the knee,it could possibly be a popped blood vessel or vein. This usually starts with a pain and then burning sensation at the site. After a little while the area will become sore and start to bruise. Depending on how badly it is damaged,it can take weeks for this to heal. If you are uncertain or don't feel comfortable at any time...please consul your physician.

You popped a blood vessel in your knee. It may continue to grow for a few days. The skin on the back of your knee is quite thin and so the bruise will show easily. If it gets red or you notice red lines going up your leg, get to the doctor fast.

It sounds more like an injury to a vein or maybe something torn. I would go to the walk-in as fast as I could. You already waited too long, in my opion. Just my 2 cents worth. good Luck

See a doctor ASAP. You might have broken a blood vessel, or have a blood clot in your leg which can be serious.
