There is no "best" way. Just be in the moment. If you need to cry, scream, vent or whatever, take a day or two to do just that. If this is your first time, know that you will find something else and start looking. If this is not your first time, then you already know what you've got to do - so get out there and make it happen. Don't spend a lot of time here because it will pass. It's life.

Go do your favorite things. Getting fired isn't the end of the world, trust me as you grow older you get fired more and more. Things just happen that way. It is not a big deal. Just go out and get a new job, a better job, something that you really love to do or at least something close to it. You'll feel better when you get the job.

Be kind to yourself. Don't let it ruin your self-concept. After you've had some time to process the event, try to learn something from it. What would you do differently? Would you even have taken the job in the first place?
I was let go from a job I really, really hated. I began to fall into despair, but then I realized it was a blessing in disguise. I left the profession altogether and changed careers. I am so happy doing what I do now!
Chin up...you'll find something much better soon!

Being fired sucks...don't care who you are or what the job was..this is so wrong, but what I would do, is have a new haircut, get a manicure and and pedicure, create a great looking resume', throw together a "power suit" and get the job you REALLY want! You can do it!

First tell yourself outloud that you have self-worth, and that you will once again find a job where you can be respected and appreciated for your hard work. Then, go down to your local beautician, and get your hair done, and your nails done! When you look good, you feel good...Sorry for your let-down, pick yourself up and put a smile on your face. You'll find yourself another job, a better job with an employer who appreciates you and what you have to offer. Good luck on job hunting...keep that smile...Everyone likes a pretty smile.

Get drunk, sleep in, then tomorrow:
Take a shower, do your resume, and go out and get a new job. Work at it 8 hours a day until you get a new job.
