When babysitting my niece, it sometimes requires playing with Barbies, stuffed animals, Hot Wheels, or whatever. The fact that I love collecting all types of toys makes our time together special. When she is older and I am gone, she will have the good memories of how we had fun playing Barbies and other things together. That is important to me. I try to let her know that Barbies like other toys are fantasy and not reality. She is better than any doll. Playing Barbies requires concentration. However, I let her dress and undress them and give me directions for how to play best using the dolls for her satisfaction.

It all depends how you play with them. As a kid, my friends and I went from playing house and make-believe to doing their hair and making clothes. The later activities were when we were maybe 12 or 13. We'd also host beauty pagents. You can get creative. I'd say no older than 13.

HAHAHA.. im 35 and I just bought some new clothes for them . I wish that My Scene Barbies werent like brats because they have some awesome clothes for those hoochie dolls.

I never liked playing with Barbie dolls - I'm honestly afraid of dolls... give me a stuffed animal or something... I' ve seen too many horor films to play with dolls - their eyes ... ooh forget it!!! I know - It's ridiculous - but I can't deal with a doll...

Never lol! If I had time between my kids and my life I'd still have them lol. Well, maybe I wouldn't play with them. But I'd be at least collecting them. You stop, when you get bored of them and no sooner.

I wish I had never stopped ,,,, the world was much easier back then :) My best friend and I played well we were like 9th graders in high highschool.
