Kids that age do not need to be out all hours of the night. If they want to hang out at night, have it be in some sort of supervised setting. Kids this days think they are 10 years older then they actually are. So, try to remind your child that he or she is 13 not 23. That it won't be safe for he or she to be out after dark.
1. During the school year:
Monday- Thursday 7 pm
Friday- Sunday 8:30
2. Vacation time
By twilight.

But there is always an exception to the rule like some sort of event. Just as long as your 13 year old knows his or her boundaries.

From where? market? for questioning?

Or do you mean a curfew?

If so, the phrase 'brought in' does sound a little heavy-handed. However, kids at this age, as long as they aren't getting into bother, could have a curfew of around 9ish, extending to maybe 10-10:30 in the summer or later for special occasions like parties etc. But it's really down to you, and how you've handled parenting thus far.

A 13 year old. Um, in bye 9:30 bed by 10:15 on school nights. If you're not planning on doing anything the next day as late as you want to on Fridays and Saturdays but same as school nights on Sundays.

The latest a 13 year old should stay out is 9:00pm. I would say maybe extend the time a half an hour every year.

Like others on here I am assuming the time you would like them in for the evening. I would say 21:00 during the week and possible 22:00 at weekends. However if you encourage them to have their mates round to the house / garden / shed then they will be more trustworthy as they get older. Don't encourage them to go out just to get out of your way, having their friends round means you know where they are and they are not hanging about on street corners. To many parents are just keen to get teenagers out from under their feet - let them play their music, play on the playstations xbox etc., then teach them to play cards. Teenagers should be as much fun as they were when they were toddlers. Enjoy them.

I think this depends on where the kid is playing. If they are out of your view 9 - 9.30 is OK provided the kid is trustworthy enough to follow your rules if they arrive home later they should be grounded or come in earlier the following night. You need to give a child the chance to earn your trust give them some responsibility and see how they go.

A 13 years old should be at home straight after school doing his homework! once he 's finish he would have dinner and then maybe play in the garden until 9pm on school night and then go to bed!

what a question ! It obviously depends on a lot of factors like where you live, is it a school night ? are they at a friends or just out and about.
My daughter is 13 and we work on 8.30 ona school night as long as homework has been done first and 9.30 - 10 at weekends on light evenings or home by dark whichever comes first at weekends.

My son spent his entire teenage years in a very rural environment, and I trusted him to behave properly. So I never gave him a curfew. It would have been very difficult for him to get into town without my knowledge. It worked. He learned the hard way to give himself curfews so he could wake up in time for class when he moved away to go to University. I guess I was just very lucky.
