It depends on how old and how delicate the quilts are. It may not be possible to remove the yellowing without damaging the quilt. Washing could cause dark fabrics to bleed into lighter ones. If there are any tears or worn places, it could tear further. There's a great link below about cleaning old quilts. One suggestion she makes is talking to a professional textile conservator, and she provides an address. Good luck - you're lucky to have those quilts, yellow or not.

If you would normally clean them by washing, try using Oxy Clean in the wash water. I was going to throw away several garments and I tried Oxy Clean and was able to save them. I hope it works well for you.

Many years ago folks used something called bluing. It is still available and is much gentler than bleach. Try that first.

Hand wash, be careful, don't use bleach, and air dry. DO NOT put this in the dryer.
