Why are most people so mean I try to be nice to everyone but people can be so mean. Sometimes I think that I should not even try to be nice anymore because when I try to be nice and treat people the way i like to be treated i get my feelings hurt or my day turns out to be really bad.Do you all feel the same way?

DONT EVER STOP BEING NICE. IF PEOPLE DONT WANT TO BE NICE BACK THAT IS ON THEM, DONT CHANGE YOUR CHARACTER FOR SOMEONE ELSE. YOU SOUND LIKE A GOOD PERSON.

No I don't feel that way. Those people are the ones with the prolems. Just don't let them get to you. I work with a guy it's like he's mad at the world. I just say hi to him everyday, and avoid him for the rest of the day. Everytime we do end up in a conversation all he does is b*tch about this person or I hate this job. Life's to short to be angry all the time. Smile and try to be your happy go lucky self. That what I do. Even when Sh*t happens.

You are not the only one who feels that way. I always try to be polite to everyone. I hold the door open for the person behind me, I will say hello to people when I enter a room. I never will go out of my way to make someone feel bad about themselves. Don't stop being who you are because other people are rude. People are rude and ignorant because they are so unhappy they want to make other people as bitter as they are. I'm around a lot of negative people all day and they try their damnest to ruin someone else's day. continue to be a beautiful person.

Keep being nice. It's the right thing to do. You might be expecting too much from people that's why your feelings get hurt. If you don't expect too much from people when the nice ones come around you'll appreciate them. Don't let the idiots of the world spoil your day. What goes around comes around.

i get the same experience sometimes too, i guess people just don't appreciate the way they're being treated and they only think for themselves. But i always say to myself that, you can not to be nice with people but treat them with respect because you always want others treat you back with respect.

Its happened to me a coupla times where I've had unequal friendships. I find myself doing all these things for people only to later have them turn their back on me. But you know what? I'm gonna keep on being the good person I am because its not about what I get back but what I give.
Its easier for people to be mean than it is to be nice.

Yes. I try to be nice to everyone too. I don't know what their problem is. I try to smile at everyone and they give me a go to he** look. Oh well. I am not losing sleep because they are a***oles. Just over look them. Be nice to the ones that are nice back.

I think people should be treated the way the deserve. If someone is being nice, then be nice. If someone is being mean, well, get creative.

yes i do i also work with the public so sometimes it is really hard to be nice sometimes i wont to pinch their heads off but i dont i just smile and take it i wish everyone was like you and i the world would be more peaceful
