They grown in SoCal all over the place from LA to the Mexican border. It is a Mediterranean type climate and they thrive here.

They are rare plants that can grow well in coastal climate environments, such as the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia and some parts of California. They grow slowly and require a long, hot growing season to properly ripen. Olive plants can grow when neglected, but they don’t grow very well. A deep, monthly watering is recommended for maximum growth potential.

OH YES.. I had 3 trees FULL of olives in Southern Texas.. also they are grown in southern California, New Mexico and Arizona....
