You're allowed to be annoyed for about 10 seconds.

It's a compliment -- you magically combine time for him as an ideal companion, that's why he said that, he was honestly confused. He trusts you very deeply and probably loves you.

Don't fly into a rage over this --please don't do that to yourself.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake.... give the boy a little credit.... You have to put it all in context... maybe you were doing something that his ex used to do and he was having flash backs.... I know when I nag an aweful lot my bf calls me his ex's name (intentionally, but some times i really do think he slips) BUT, I'd say anything over a week is just plain being mean and resentful.....let him appologize profusely and buy you flowers, get some back rubs out of it too!......

Well, consider some things. How long has it been since he's broken up with her? If it was like a couple months ago, perhaps he's not over her and he really did slip and make a mistake. Cut him off for a while...lol. No, I don't know what your age is, so I really shouldn't say that.

However, if it's been quite some time and he did it, don't let him disrespect you like that. Either move on, or file this away in your 'I'm a female and I'm going to bring this up when we fight' book. Good luck. =)

I can't tell you how long but I made the same mistake. My ex and I where together for 10 yrs. There names are similar. We weren't fighting I didn't even realize I had done it. I felt terrible, she was very upset but she realized it wasn't done on purpose I apologized (about 1000 times) she forgave me. It all worked out. What advice I would give you is if it was just an accident and he apologized forgive him. choose your battles wisely

Depends on how long you've been together. But I'd say about 5 minutes. Pick your battles. I did it one time while in bed with her! I was young, it was dark, there was lots of Scotch.. she laughed it off as no big deal, I always thought she was the coolest girl because of that, she could have made a huge stink of it and ruined our weekend away, but didnt.

my boyfriend called me his ex's name. they had been split up for about 6 months, and we had been together for about 3 months. I was upset at first but then i realised that it probably didnt mean anything, and that everybody has moments where there forget names etc. I spoke to my boyfriend about it and he felt terrible that he had made me upset. he has never called me her name again, and i completely trust that it was a mistake. Give him a chance. if u love him, it aint worth pushing him away.

Does he normally call you his exes name or was it a one time thing. If it was just a one time thing, i think you should give him some slack and not get very angry about it. If he's a good guy otherwise, why hurt a good relationship over one misstep. Don't be so quick to anger.

I hope you forgive him soon :)

not too long, if he was with this girl for a long time then he is bound to get your names mixed up. i went through two ex boyfriends before i got to my husbands name once he just laughed. you must do it all the time with family, i do it with my daughters too, got three girls. it doesnt mean that he still loves her just habit.

girl that's not that serious. Mistakes like that happens sometimes. I've done it before, but that doesn't mean that the other man was on my mind at all. i mean my boss made a mistake and called me her daughters name before.
it's nothing, just let it go. But if it happens continuously then it's a problem!
