Gynecologist generally just wear a mask when doing a vaginal exam because the internal and external vaginal area are lined with mucosa membrane and it much more susceptible to disease. It is for your protection

I have never had a gynecologist to wear a mask in many years of seeign them.

Usually we don't wear masks around down there because there is nothing to squirt out, or risk hitting us in the face when we are doing vaginal exams.

Do they wear gloves? That's what you should be most concerned with. Unless they are breathing directly into your vagina (or sticking tongue into) you really don't need to worry about a mask. You just need to make sure that whatever is going into you is clean.
