I'm fiercely patriotic and mournful today but am starting to feel overwhelmed by the near constant media coverage. Is the level of attention being given appropriate, or are the news producers just whoring the event for attention and ratings?
(Yeah, I know, I'd feel less overwhelmed if I got off the computer/TV...and I will as soon as I get your answers. :)

I personally feel they show 9/11 too little on the news. We only hear about it on 9/11. I think too many people have forgotten and that is why our country is so divided. We all stood together after 9/11 and then quickly fell apart. People need to remember and I do not think they are showing too much of it. People need to remember. Tomorrow they will not speak of it for another year, so sad!
P.S. Someone needs to run over those protestors at the Flight 93 memorial service, protesting that 9/11 was good, and thank god for dead soldiers. May they rot in h*ll!

I really feel for those for lost loved ones in the 9/11 attack however more people have died as a result of 9/1. They have not been commemorated on this day. In fact i can think of worse tragedies that have occurred over these past couple of years, none of which were given this much attention. Were these events considered insignificant even though far more people died. I think people need to move on. Those that didn't lose loved ones in the 9/11 attack that is.

No, the coverage is not too much. In fact it is not enough.

Our country is falling back into it's old ways once again.

I am a veteren of the US Navy, I served during the first Gulf War and was also volunteered in Shanksville, PA.

With the anniversary of that tragic day, we Americans should be asking ourselves and more in particular, our President.....why do we not have stronger Immigration Laws. Why do we not have better port and border security?????

Yes, it is too much. Come on! Every day people get killed thrughout the world, so what is so special in 9/11? I have never been in the USA, but I guess being in the USA on 9/11 is like being in Israel on the Holocaust (and Bravery) Commemoration Day. Come on! Tens of million people, the majority of which weren't Jews, were butchered by the Nazis in WW2, these include millions of Roma & other Gipsies, a third of the Belorussian people and almost a million (yes, almost a million, unlike Philip Cohen's lies which US teachers are forced to "teach" school pupils) Serbs.

Yeah. I dont get it. Yeah people are upset, someone died, but you should really get over it. Yes it does make me feel upset hearing the names being called out, but than again, they show this over and over and over again, and thats why i dread 9/11 because everything is shown in the media and all over the place, that sucks. Yes people died because of something which shouldnt have happend, but now you have to move on, people are trying to move on, but that date keeps on reminding them that someone died in a horrible way, than memories come up from the tower going down and they have to show that like 10 in one hour on tv, thats just wrong reminding people how that person must have felt over there. Than they interview the survivors and they say how it was and everything, relatives than feel, dammit, no they could have gotten out of the building or like, yeah you were so lucky, etc, you know what i mean? People are trying to move on but the media has to remind them how their family members have died and which condition they might have been in. when they died or when they were in the buildings crying for help. Have a nice day and please, dont let this take control of you, have a good day..

I'm from NY. I volunteered at the recovery effort. I'm now in Raleigh, North Carolina and I've had at least 6 people today, ask me what the date was. People are forgetting. There cannot be enough media attention given so that people NEVER forget.

yes their is a little too much media crap over everything yes it is for ratings. but it mostly surprises me at the fact that they don't do this for every holiday or every day that we morn. or even everyday people that went to help after this horrible thing happened. no one thinks about the little people no one wants to think about all the people that gave blood that gave support that helped the minute they heard about this tragedy. so yes they may have a little too much crap on tv just for this 1 day but sadly when today ends so will every ones memory of that day.

no it is not too much at all and futhermore that is very heartless of you to even say something like that, especially today of all days. my father died in 2001 (not 9/11, but earlier in that year) and every time the anniversary of his death comes around i still get sad and cry, that is just me, one sad story for just me and my family, but for something this large, a national tragedy, something that thousands of people have mourned, and having our lived forever changed (in even the smallest ways, like airport security, or armed national guardsmen around more), for you to just say get over it, that is just completely inhumane...if you have no more hurt feelings or sorrow over this date, and what this date symbolizes then that is you, just don't expect other people (our nation) to get over it just as easily.
