Listen to me. I even had a letter I wrote about this very man published in a national newspaper. I've also got a great interest in the communist movement (although I do not support it at all)

His image might be popular but maybe this article will make other think next time they will see it.

During the time of the Batista regime (early 1940s) in Cuba a revolution was in need as the dictator Fulgencio Batista was cruel and oppressive, without question. What Ernesto "Ché" Guevara de la Serna (full name) and Fidel Castro did was good up until they seized power. They did free an oppressed Cuba from a dictator but became dictators themselves (Castro is STILL in power).

In 1959 Ché and Castro successfully expelled Batista and his followers from Havana and later the country. After that, Ché and Castro performed mass executions of around 600 Batista supporters in two prisons in Havana over a 5 month period.

After this beginning to the revolution Ché Guevara was assigned the post of state prosecutor, working in a main Cuban prison, where many were executed during his period there. The many included fellow communists (who helped establish communsim there) who refused to abandon their more democratic views.

Later on he was given the role as Minister of Industry and head of the Central Bank. He used this opportunity and his influence to create Cuba in the image of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) which itself is responsible for more deaths than Nazi Germany. That is a FACT.

He was later killed by the Bolivian military for trying to spread communism there.

As for why his image is famous. I can imagine it is because the idea of communism "liberating the masses from oppression" was romaticized. The USSR is seen by many as evil but not so much communist Cuba. Perhaps that's why Che became famous.

Che Guevara is NOT a hero or a liberator. He was a communist who used guerilla tactics and terrorism during the Cuban revolution.

i might say he did undesirable issues for solid motives. Oppression and exploitation in Latin united statesa. have been (and in some places, nevertheless are) real issues that needed to be addressed, yet Guevara's technique of socialist revolution became not the ultimate thank you to realize this.
