I can do basic math like to 7th grade.Lol.
But right now I am taking accounting/business math and I can't get any of it...most of it! I understand what they are asking in the comprehensive questions but I never get the hang of figuring out what procedures/equations to solve the problem...how can I make it easier for me to pass the tests? Numbers and I do not click very well. Sometimes I try to practice the problems but I still get lost very easily!

Practice makes perfect. You should start by solving hundreds ( i mean it) of problems that seem easy...problems you think you know....once you master the basics you'll be able to go to the next level. You have to choose types of problems you actually like.....you will see that once you get it in your veins you'll grow to love it....But remember...lots and lots of practice.

I sympathize.

No, it's not dyslexia. Unless you're seeing 123 as 321. No shame in it, either way.

It's not a direct solution, but maybe the principle can be applied. I started trying to do calculations about how much income I'd need for a certain level of expenditure for a given project -- budget projection. Start on paper. Move to doing it in your head. Large numbers have to be multiplied by factoring. Thirty years or so of doing that and I actually managed to ace algebra when I went back to school.

Otherwise, slog through, pass the course and chose a profession where you don't have to deal with numbers.

My opinion is that you should get a firmer grasp of more basic math (do some additional problems, try to gain a more intuitive understanding) before you tackle business and accounting math. Redo math that you can already do to implant it further - then attack the problems that give you trouble.

Reads as if you might consider switching to some other kind of study. Accounting/business math is downright boring and should be simple for anyone doing it...do what YOU do well and leave the counting to someone else.

Accounting is certainly 'funny math'. I had issues trying to think of credits and debits because in accounting, it seemed just the opposite than what we think of in the real world.

For me, when I was in doubt, I went the opposite of what seemed logical to me and most of the time that helped!

I wouldn't call it "dyslexic". It takes practice. It could be that if you continue working at it, you'll eventually 'get it' and it will seem easy after that (differential equations was like that for me), or maybe you could use a tutor.

That is not dyslexia. Dyslexia is seeing 23 as 32 and alike.
