a person or company that supplies you a service as in the case of your internet company/provider wanadoo/orange or AOL ,bulldog to cut a long list short the people that provide your on line connection this is not always your phone company like NTL OR BT with the exception of NTL you need a BT phone line to use any internet supplier but with NTL you can only use there internet service
