I read an article that suggests adding baking soda to hot water for a foot soak. I tried it and thought it felt nice (and fizzy at first), but I wonder what makes baking soda a good additive for skin. Might it have softened the water? What happened there? :- )

Thanks. (And give it a try!)

I've used it in the bathtub. Baking soda is an alkaline (or base) which helps hydrate your skin. This is the opposite of an acid, which dries out skin.
