I don't know about better but definitely more successful is Billy Ray Cirus (spelling), Acky Breaky Heart. The song was first offered and recorded by the Oak Ridge Boys and there version went nowhere.

Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watchtower....best cover of any song, ever. Even Dylan said the Hendrix version was superior.
