Oh these poor, misinformed mortals.
Wolves can count however they rarely have trouble sleeping. Ask any well versed lycanthrop and they'll tell you that they don't count to fall into slumber … a few slurps of warm blood is all that's needed to send them off to a nice, peaceful sleep.
