I am a stay at home mom. Yes, sometimes it gets boring and you feel unappreciated a lot. That's part of being a mom. But it's what's best for kids these days and you need to put them first. I wouldn't trade my life for the world. I tend my nephew, both parents work full time. They have no choice I understand that, but I see a difference in his behavior. Especially when he is with his mom. He is always crying and throwing fits. He doesn't do that when he's at my house. Some people have no choice but to work. Sometimes that's just the way it is, but if you can stay home and be financially stable, than that's what you should do. Your kids will reap the benefits their whole lives from mom being home with them.
Sometimes a part time job will break up the boredom and oppression. If you can work it around you hubby's and kid's schedule. It will give you something to do for yourself. Also, try a work at home job.

I stay at home, I am not oppressed, unappreciated and certainly never bored, I love to take care of the home, it's brilliant because when my husband gets home from work there are no jobs left to do and we can spend real quality time together. We are total equals but different I'm a woman and he's a man, we are meant to be different, our situation works perfectly and we wouldn't have it any other way. The man is the hunter gatherer.

It`s not the ideal life,i`ve been at home with my son for the last 4 years while my boyfriend works,it`s not a case of sitting around watching tv and going shopping all day,it`s a day of cleaning, cooking, nursery run, grocery shopping and arguing with a 4 year old to eat his dinner and dealing with tears and tantrums.
Ilove my son dearly but cant wait till he starts school so i can go out to work and feel like a person instead of just a mum all the time and have a conversation with an adult.

I pretty much stay at home now, apart from an hour as dinner lady. I love my life! Money is tight but I'm not trained for a career, nor do I want one, I'm not lazy because in the past I've worked up to 3 jobs at the same time. I simply put my home and kids first.

it would be great to be able to stay at home and not have to work, until the novelty wore off!!!
I'm 34 and worked since the day i left school, only having 3 months off with each of my 2 children when they were born.
Work gives you a direction in life, a social life, time away from being wife and mother.
i'm in a different situation now, i'm a single parent so have to work and dont have the choice. My current situation makes me grateful that i continued to work cos if i hadnt of worked throughout my marriage i would have found it tough after the separation!!!

Absolutely not! Maybe I'm more of a traditional woman but when I get married I intend on staying home for a while after I have kids. I think that as a society we put our family off on other people too much, plus I happen to like staying home.. I could volunteer in the school, the church and other things.

I am a stay at home mom, I have three children. I offer daycare for parents who cannot afford to stay home with their children, I also am a full time student. My husband appriciates how hard I work to take care of my children and our home while going to school. I work hard and so does he. If I wanted to work outside of the home he would support me in that also, we have just decided that it would be better for our children if I was with them until they are ready to go to school.
It is extremely difficult to be a stay at home mom and often these women are underappriciated, made to feel as though they missed the feminist bus, but I think that to stay home with their children is a wonderful choice that they have made, they should not feel bored, oppressed or underappriciated...they are helping to shape our future by raising their children.

I am a stay home wife/mother. I dont get bored, or ever feel unappreciated. I feel more than appreciated to be able to stay home and care for my home and family. Its not as easy as alot of people think. As my husband would say....not even a bank would have enough money to cash the checks if we got paid for doing our job.

It would be my ideal life after we had kids because I think the best way for children to grow up is with mom at home, atleast for the first 5 years!!
