I absolutely agree!Today is a day for mourning and celebration! A lot of people went to work that day not knowing that it was there last day on earth. And at the same time we had everyday ordinary Americans fighting to their death on those planes to save thousands more.So yes,I think the utmost respect should be shown today..for them, their families and friends, for the ultimate sacrifice.I have read crude,UN-AMERICAN comments like "get on with it,it's over" or "just let it go and get on with your life" it makes me sooo mad to think that some people in our proud country could be so callous and glib about one of the worst tragedy's our country has ever had to face!I find NOTHING funny about the poor taste jokes and comments. And just to remind a few of those people,a lot of firefighters, policemen and women and e.m.t.'s also lost their lives that day trying to protect and serve and they too should be shown the utmost respect! I for one will NEVER forget that awful day or the devastation it caused,I was shocked, hurt and I cried for weeks afterwards. So yes,I think that respect is most definitely due to all that gave their lives that day.I also believe that 9/11 should be a National memorial holiday in remembrance of all, paid or not.We should be able to celebrate and mourn as a country and pay homage to our fallen brother's and sister's however we choose,After all...this is America,And i am A VERY PROUD AMERICAN!

no, people shouldn't be joking about it, but at the same time i think that people should move on with their lives. the people that was "lost" that day wouldn't want their loved ones to morn forever. take an hour today and celebrate their lives, but remember that you are your loved ones legacy, live a happy healthy life, make them proud of you. i know for a fact that it is hard when a loved one dies due to someone else hurting them, and by dease, and i know that a person never really gets over that---but the people who died that day deserves the respect from us in the fact that we try to celebrate them instead of morn. hope that makes sense

People do need to respect those who died on 9/11 and those who died trying to save those who died on 9/11, and the families who lost loved ones, but I forgot today was 9/11....damn I'm bad with dates...I thought it was tomorrow. I joined the army because of 9/11.

yes, it is a very sad day! But we all deal with it in our own ways. My way is, I try not to watch too much news and I don't think about it a whole lot. I just get too depressed and I don't like that, that won't do no good for anybody.

i'm a Black Muslim, i might want to in no way bypass hostile to my fellow Muslims. Allah might want to in no way allow such issues. on the authentic of the day, you get carry of what you sow. even as it comes right down to it, Muslim/Arab international places are going to initiate turning hostile to each person. Edit; You people have brought about this upon your self. i'm no longer a "racist black" because i go with to be. You all have pushed me to date, and that i'm no longer racist to ALL white people, very few. do not initiate passing judgments. Many black Christians or Jews might want to be racist hostile to you all too. My Islamic faith has no longer something to do with the very undeniable reality that I have racist tendencies.
