It is no longer accurate. You have to look at it within the time stated on the bos, usually 2 or 3 minutes. If it negative the first time then turned positive after 2 hours, you are still not pregnant. It just turned positive because of evaporation or something like that.

They usually show the results within 5 to 10 minutes, after that they should not be reliable, however when I took my pregnancy test 5 days before missed period, the test showed negative, about an hour later I came back and looked at it and I saw a very very faint line, it was so faint that I had to look at it under a lamp! I could tell there was something there but I was not sure whether it was there or not, so I tested 2 days later and the other line was darker and I was indeed pregnant! So do the same, test in 2 more days, the hcg duplicates every other day so if you are indeed pregnant the line will get darker. Do not test again today or tomorrow because when you test very early into the pregnancy the hcg is not very concentrated and the test will be negative and you will be all frustrated! So do it in 2 more days first thing in the morning.

It is most likely positive. They sometimes take a while to work -- you could have very low levels of HcG in your urine at this point, which is why it would have taken a long time.
With my daugther, I took a test on a Friday which I thought was negative and then threw it in the trash and left for the weekend. Saturday I was feeling more symptoms and took another test and it was positive. When I got home on Sunday, I looked at the test in the trash and it was positive.
Try a First Response test -- they are more sensitive than the rest.
Good Luck.

Any results after 10 minutes are not valid. More than likely, your test is negative. I suggest waiting a week, then take another hpt. The waiting is hard, but it might give you a more accurate result. Good luck.

Some tests will get an evaporation line after a while which will make them look positive. Look at this website which has pictures of positives and evaporation lines and a whole lot of general info about pregnancy tests:
http://www.peeonastick.com
You may want to try testing again just to be sure. Try a first response test, they are the most sensitive.
Good luck!

After 2 hours, your results are not reliable. if you do not have a positive result in the first 5-10 mins than most likely you are not pregnant, or not far enough along to get a positive result.

I agree that it is probably positive and that you should retest & then check after 5 or 10 minutes (according to the instructions on the test).

The instructions state you should read results within the time period they say I believe it is within ten minutes. and that the results are not accurate after that. so I would consider the first response as the correct one. take care and Lots of baby dust
