I do not care for our president, I hate that we are at war, I hate that we may have been misled on Iraq, but ENOUGH! Why can't everyone focus on how we can successfully end this war and bring our troops home? What good is finger pointing about something that we cannot change?

So my question is, what will it take for you to look forward and stop blaming Bush, Clinton and even Jimmy Carter (yes, someone on here is blaming Carter)? Can you look forward or are you blinded by this political game that Congress and the media are playing?

I should say this game Congress is playing and the Media is egging on.

EM--my point is to grow up, look forward and come up with a solution. Finger pointing is not solving anything, it is actually causing more problems.

I agree, we need to look ahead. Having said that I don't have an answer. Hind sight being what it is we shouldn't be in Iraq but here we are. It is our mess and our responsibility to clean it up. It is tiring to see all of the political posturing and people trying to use the situation to their own advantage instead of trying to come to a legitimate solution.
Can I look forward...yes, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

The losers will never get over the fact they lost in 2000 and 2004 and again in NOV.
Spoiled little minded crybabies.
I can't stop bashing the Anti-America Defeatacrats,
It brings me joy to try and make up more and more hate filled comments about the Anti-Anything Bush folks.
I'm part of the problem, I did not however cry when BJ Clinton was elected twice. I did not support the lying adulterous dog. I didn't cry for 8 years. I respected the office of the President of the USA, more than he respected the Oval office.
Respect the office, enjoy the freedoms the USA has and voting is one of them. there are winners and losers, Liberal Demoncraps lost, so get over it.

I completely agree with you on most of your points. I'm not for the war, but the fact is, we are there, and there is no logical way we could pull out now, or even any time soon. We're there for reasons that a lot of people in this country haven't considered. It's not just Iraq, It's Syria, Iran, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Afghanistan. Friend and foe. It's a global problem. We've got Korea, Russia, Great Britain, and really even Venezuela. Really, we're in the early stages of a world war, that is not completely unstoppable, or avoidable. We're just in the "ready position" right now." I mean, why do you think they quit looking for Bin Laden. It's because there are much bugger threats to us out there right now.
We can not rely on the UN, we can not rely on the American Government. We need to rely on ourselves, and our believes, and our morals. And we need to remember where America stands in this world. It's not where the American Government stands in this world. The Americana's. And we need to be strong enough together to deal with what the rest of the world is willing to dish out to us.

It's a natural reaction in this world to find a reason for things happening before trying to find a solution. Heck, people are even trying to determine who was to blame for Steve Irwin's death- the stingray or Steve! Who cares? I agree with you that the finger-pointing and blaming don't help us find a solution to the mess we're in now, but nobody is mature enough to stand alone and come up with an answer.

Nice sentiment. I wish it could be expressed to an authority higher than Y!Answers. The only thing that congress and the media understand is power. We must disrupt that power in order to effect change. I wouldn't vote for a single incumbent in November. We need a complete change of guard in Washington not just another batch of S.O.S. democrats and republicans.

Dear Chris,

What a very diplomatic point. Thank you for criticizing the Presidents agenda without defaming and libeling his charactor. Kudos to you.

War is a horrible business, one that should not be entered into lightly and one that should not be retreated from because one is afraid of lose.

Not trying to compare battle scares, but do you realize that more American Soldiers lost their lives on D Day in WWII than have in the entire Iraqi Conflict. However should we have pulled out of that battle, should Eisenhower and Churchhill of said this is too hard. Let Hitler have Germany, than Austria, Poland, and pretty soon the entire Eastern Block, and soon with his dictim all of Europe and the world. That was his goal, as is it the goal of radical insurgents such as Al-Queda. If you are not ready to convert to Islam and surrender your freedoms, do not be so hasty to bring our soldiers home. It's a horrible thing to say, but War is horrible. God Bless you for your wonderful opionions, and I hope that this helps.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS, WHO FIGHT AND SACRAFICE SO THAT WE MAY REMAIN FREE.

We can successfully end this war by letting the military do its job without the media and people screaming everytime something goes wrong. I can't imagine what FDR would have done in WW2 if he had the media hounding him everytime someone died.

The thing is, when someone in power makes a mistake that gets 2600 soldiers killed and 40,000 Iraqis killed, and lies about the reason for it, he should at least admit the mistake and be held accountable. When someone in the Bush administration takes the blame for the fiasco, the finger pointing will stop.

There is NO easy way out of Iraq. Invaiding Iraq was more then a mistake, it was a collosal error. Even Bush I noted (in his memoir) that invaiding Iraq would be a big mistake cuase there is no viable exit strategy.

Bush just assumed that Iraqi's wanted a cowboy to come rolling in and "saving" them, what Bush and company neglected was the history and the people of that region. You can't force change, they must want that. And, to be fair, Sadaam had the whole insurgents in check, Al Quada and Taliban did not attack Iraq and they stayed out, because Sadaam was in power. If Taliban/Al Queda start roots in Iraq now, it's because of Idiot Bush.

So, to answer your question, our troops are never coming home. As the generation changes, we'll send more troops there. We are there for good, plain and simple. Insurgents in that area are not going to keel over and accept defeat. They are fighting because we INVADED their land. Sadaam had NO ties with 9/11 and he posed no real threat to us whatsoever.

BTW, its amusing to note that we're being led into a war by people that have never even been in a war.

1. Bush used his dad's power to avoid going into vietnam
2. Cheney kept on having kids and going to college to avoid being drafted in the Veitnam war
3. Rummy has no real militray experience yet he is the leader of DOF.

So, to sum up, we're screwd. Period.

VOTE DEMS!
It's time for the right ppl to be in charge

You cant end the war like flipping a light switch. Many people would suffer from an immediate pull out.
