hey all, i need to know an example of diffusion in biology, particualry in the human body, just tell me the basics thanks! 10 points up for grabs

yeah i know what diffusion IS, i just need to know an example, sorry for any confusion.

Diffusion is when two things merge together to become one. It happens when different substances cross memberanes as a form of passive transport.

The example we used in our lab was taking a plastic bag and filling it with water and dark blue dye (so the water is very dark) and tying the bag shut. The place the bag in a beaker full of clear water and prick the bag with a needle. In 10 minutes the water will be diffused.

One example of diffusion is when your body has to regulate the sodium content in the cells. For example, if the salt/saline levels are too high in your cells, your body will move liquid from the interstitial fluid into your cells to lower the salinity. That movement of water into the cell is called diffusion.
